E&I Construction Manager

Job Purpose

As an E&I Construction Manager, you will be responsible for all construction-related works on the project. You will ensure that all scope is understood, planned for, and safely executed to the expected quality for the project.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • National Diploma NQF 6 in Construction Management qualifications.

  • NQF 5 Technical and/or trade-related qualification.

  • Professional certification (SACPCMP) will be advantageous.

  • Driver’s license and own transport.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a construction manager.

  • Technical experience in construction projects, minimum 10 years.

  • Management of multi-discipline construction teams (including subcontractors and suppliers) on

    greenfield and brownfield projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, systems, and methodology including

    project documentation (daily diaries and site instructions).

  • Understanding of construction regulations including legal appointments.

  • Knowledge of safety and quality requirements on construction projects (codes and standards).

  • Computer literacy including MS Office.

Requirements

  • Scope definition and schedule development. Compile work scope (including BOQ) for suppliers,

    vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Identification and management of schedule milestones and critical paths and ensure schedule

    adherence.

  • Scope and resource management, including scope variations.

  • Lead method statement and risk assessment initiatives and approve final documents.

  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirement is understood and adhered to.

  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control requirement is understood and adhered to.

  • Ensure that construction progress meetings are scheduled, facilitated, and administered.

  • Effective communication (written and oral) with project stakeholders.

  • Direct, control, coordinate, and manage construction works for staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Support business development initiatives and replicate such strategic initiatives at the project location.

  • Oversee project execution and successfully deliver projects on time and within budget.
